This is the alphabet poem that I was required to write for Poetry class. Enjoy!\
Memories
All my childhood years run together
Blending, mixing, joining together
Combined they create a
Disoriented memory where
Every different memory is squeezed into one.
Flying, soaring on the swings and
Getting so
High that you feel like you can touch the sky if you dare try. And WHOOSH!
I remember
Jumping ropes and the jungle gym. Flying
Kites. Red. Blue. Green kites.
Lightning flashing through the sky BAM!
Making us play inside today because it is wet and drizzly.
No way out of the winding corn maze we went to that
October evening. While the sun set on the horizon I was
Pushing my way earnestly through to find my parents. EEP!
Quack says the duck at the park in the murky, green pond.
Racing down
Stream to reach mother duck before she disappears.
Too late to stay out, says my mother. It begins to rain. And she shares her
Umbrella with me as we walk to the
Van hand in hand.
What a day! What a memory! On the tiresome drive home the sign ahead says animal
X-ing. I am excited to see the wildlife
Yet I fall asleep before I do and as I sleep I dream of these memories.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz...Goodnight my dear.
