Free Verse Poem: The Rain

This is a free verse poem that I wrote for my poetry course.
I know it's not the best. But enjoy anyway!

Rain

The street is a mirror
Mimicking each move, each graceful bound
Reflecting, emulating a parallel world,
A parallel world of silence
And distorted intentions

The air is thin
Crisply, cleanly counteracting the warmth
With cold, harsh droplets beating down
Beating down to the ground
To destroy the silence

The sky is drearily waiting for the sun
Cold and trapped like the Holocaust
Waiting for the sun to shine again
To shine again and break through the clouds
And raze the stormy day.
